This browser can't talk to your instrument
You can still update by hand: download the firmware from the
releases page,
hold the BOOTSEL button on the Pico while plugging the instrument in,
and drop the .uf2 file onto the drive that appears.

This board has never held firmware, so that was the first thing it has ever said. The hard part of the wiring is behind you.
It gets its firmware now. After that the instrument tests itself, and starts playing once it passes.

If the instrument doesn't start, it can't tell us which hardware revision it is — so have a look at it instead.
How are the WATER steps laid out?
Make sure the instrument is plugged in first. If an update was interrupted it is probably already in update mode, which is fine.

Changes are heard on the instrument straight away. Nothing is kept until you press Save to instrument — so you can try things, and switching it off and on again puts everything back to your last save.
Restore defaults
Puts every setting back the way the instrument shipped and saves that straight away. Its name stays. Reinstalling the firmware does not do this - your settings live outside the firmware.
This firmware cannot restore defaults yet. Update it and this button will work.
Lightshow
Pick a mood and a palette and the light bar wears them straight away. Your pick holds for as long as this page is connected. Close it, or press Auto, and the light goes back to following the music. Nothing is stored on the instrument.
