Instructions

Here’s how to build your MINIPUNK. Solder one component at a time. Insert the component into place from above and then solder it from below. IF THE COMPONENT HAS LOTS OF LEGS, solder just one at first, then check that the component is sitting correctly before soldering all the legs.

Some components must be fitted the right way round. Check the markings.

There are two different types of rotary knobs (POTIS) and resistors – don’t mix them up.

You’ll see that the circuit board is divided into different sections. Start with the components that aren’t framed; you should then hear the first notes:

Test it first before continuing to assemble the sections: press the button to produce a note. Turn it to change the note.

If you like, carry on building. There are still various extensions you can build once your MINIPUNK is up and running:

	Headphone socket. Use the switch to set where the sound goes through. Cut above the switch until it works
	Filter – change the sound. Cut below the potentiometer until it works.
	LED light
	More buttons. Set different sounds and play melodies.
	Light sensors. Play with your hand. Control the knobs with the sensor. Switch on the sensor using the switch.

Instructions

Start with the small components. Begin with the resistors and diodes.
Please note: there are three different resistors, so make sure you don’t mix them up:

220k (two red bands)
10 K (one red band)
1k (no red bands)

The diodes have a front and a back. The markings should line up with the markings on the circuit board.

Next, solder the sockets for the chips. The small chip gets one, the large chip gets two. Start with one leg, check that everything fits, then solder the other legs.

Please note that the knobs (potentiometers) are different! Pay attention to the numbers.

FINALLY, screw your MAXIPUNK onto the MINIPUNK so that the solder joints line up. Solder them together, and you’re ready to PUNK.
